Breaking News: Prominent Republican Presidential Candidate linked to Al-Qaeda

Incision 2008 apologizes to its faithful readers for a two-month hiatus. However, the weight of this announcement should offset any ill feelings towards Incision's author:

A Prominent Republican Presidential Candidate has recently been linked to Al-Qaeda.

The Candidate in question interned for a law firm with irrefutable ties to the most dangerous terror organization in the world.
  • One partner of the firm was an identified member of Al-Qaeda at the time of this Candidate's internship.
  • Another partner had been an Al-Qaeda operative and was called before the United States' House Un-American Activities Committee. This same partner was called "one of America's most 'dangerously subversive' lawyers."
  • The firm was well known to have ties to Al-Qaeda and frequently represented terrorists, accused terrorists, and radical activists whose goal was complete conversion to Sharia Law in the US.
  • One of the Candidate's former colleagues reports having a distinct memory of the Candidates attendance at a meeting of Al-Qaeda operatives.
  • This Candidate is currently expected to secure the Republican Nomination for President of the United States. During stump speeches, this Candidate has made veiled and not-so-veiled references to slowly transitioning the US from a Constitutional Republic to a Theocratic Dictatorship based on Sharia Law (Sharia Law proscribes amputation of the hands for theft and death by stoning for adultery).
Can't you hear CNN chomping at the bit to reveal who the nefarious Conservative is? Can't you see the sharks at the New York Times circling the blood-filled waters?

Wouldn't you like to know who the Republican Candidate is?

Guns are for citizens, too

Anytime you get one incident of a shooting death, the scared-spitless-of-anything-not-soft gun control crowd quickly jumps on the "Ban Guns!" demagogic bandwagon. The captain has turned off the "No Thinking" sign; you are now free to examine the statistics:

In 1976, Washington D.C. imposed a near ban on handguns; in the next 15 years, the homicide rate rose 200% while the national rate rose 12%.

In 1992, Dade County, Florida stopped tracking incidents involving concealed carry licenses, which it had been tracking for the previous 5 years because there were not enough incidents to justify tracking. Between 1987 and 1992, 4 crimes were committed by licensees with firearms; none resulted in injury.

The ATF reports that less than 10% of legally purchased guns are used in violent crime.

Less than 2% of fatal accidents involve firearms.

The world is full of dangerous objects. More children die each year from drowning than firearms. Should a "civilized society" ban swimming under the age of 18? 15% of homicides involve knives. Should a "civilized society" ban cutlery?

Apparently, what is obvious to clear-thinking people needs to be explicitly stated to everyone else: more gun laws won't stop criminals. They don't care about laws.

That's why they're criminals.

My Congress(wo)man is a butt monkey

Lists you never want to see your Senator on:

3. Washington DC Madam's list of top Johns
2. The "I used to be another gender" list
1. This one: the MoveOn.org Democrats (Thanks goes to Michelle Malkin)

Completely unsurprising, but still disgusting.

So I decided it was time to express my immense displeasure with a female who is supposed to be representing my views.

"Senator Murray,

You should be ashamed of yourself. To vote against supporting our Armed Forces and condone a group like MoveOn.org at such a critical juncture reeks of political expediency and arrogance. I believe you want the Iraq war lost, and lost quickly, so George W Bush looks bad. How horrifically shortsighted and conceited!

I am ashamed to be a resident of Washington state being allegedly "represented" by the likes of you who care more about making a pretty face for the Liberals than having the integrity and courage to look past partisan bickering and forge a secure future for our children, full of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Sure, a lost war now would be a devastating to Bush, but only short term. Cheering for a defeat makes you culpable of the long term consequences--the blatant encouragement of terrorists and increased terrorism at home and abroad.

If you had any self-respect left, you'd resign. Based on what I've seen of your character, I expect you only to buckle down and hate America some more.

Sincerely,
Eric Pilon"

Hsu, fly, don't bother me.

If you aren't covered by the steaming pile of Hsu that hit the fan recently -- get on it. Two recommended blogs:

www.michellemalkin.com
http://suitablyflip.blogs.com

Based on Flip's most recent blog, which shows that one of my Senators, Maria Cantwell, has accepted over $15,000 in contributions from Hsu and his associates, I thought it was time to ask Sen. Cantwell a question. I sent this through her congressional web page.

"Sen. Cantwell,

I see you received $15,000 from Norman Hsu and his associates. As you know, Hsu is a convicted felon and a known fugitive from justice. I am interested to know what you plan on doing with money almost certainly made by defrauding investors and engaging in illegal activities.

Sincerely,

PS: Thanks for bringing integrity back to Congress. Sure glad that McGavick guy [her opponent in the 2006 election] didn't win."

Let the Rich-hating begin!

Someone once said, "The biggest reason not to vote for liberals is that they promote class warfare." If you are unfamiliar with the concept of class warfare, it is the condition of one's heart as he lambasts someone who is more affluent and more successful than he. It is the belief that we must prop up the "poor" and tear down the "rich." It's the Robin Hood mentality that the rich are evil and the poor are unlucky.

In other words, it's the Democrat party platform in a nutshell.

Here is the back story on this letter:

Charles Simonyi is a Hungarian software developer. You may have never heard of him, but you probably used his stuff today--he created two moderately successful programs called "Microsoft Word" and "Microsoft Excel." For his contributions to the marketplace, he is worth an estimated $1 billion dollars (US).

In April 2007, Mr. Simonyi expressed interest in becoming a "space tourist." In other words, here's some cash, strap me to the seat, and fly me to the moon (or there abouts).

Cool. I wish I had the dough to do that. But the foaming-at-the-mouth liberals wouldn't have it. Just after news of Mr. Simonyi's Space Odessey 2007 hit the newspapers, green-with-envy liberals excoriated the poor guy for spending the money he earned with his own labor.

What, you thought it was his to do with as he pleased? You are so naive!

Bob Wojtyna of Woodinville put it this way:

"Ain't it quaint? Charles Simonyi blows $20 million on a glorified amusement park ride to the space station while University of Washington physicist John Cramer can't get $20,000 to test a fundamental quantum theory. With priorities like that, it's no wonder America's star is in decline."

Ladies and gentlemen, if anyone has seen Mr. Wojtyna's maturity, please pick up the nearest security phone and one of our staff will assist you.

While Bob "It's-Not-Fair" Wojtyna was busy working himself into a lather over Simonyi's discretionary spending choices--funny, he doesn't seem as incensed about his congressmen wasting 10-100 times that amount of our tax dollars--I was busy un-beating the drums of class warfare.

"Mr. Wojtyna of Woodinville is misguided in lamenting Charles Simonyi spending $20 million on space travel while UW physicist John Cramer apparently struggles to raise $20,000 to test "a fundamental quantum theory" (Letters, April 10). Who cares? It's Simonyi's money, he earned it, he can spend it on $20 million dollars of Bazooka Joe Bubble Gum if he wants to.

A simple Wikipedia search shows that Simonyi earned his money by adding value to the marketplace; for example, playing a major role in the development of [correction: I should have just said "developing;" I'm reasonably certain he did it all himself.] MS Word and Excel, programs that enrich and simplify the lives of millions of people. Accordingly, the marketplace has rewarded him for his contributions.

Additionally, the Hungarian billionaire has donated $10 million to the Seattle Symphony, $3 million to the Seattle Public Library, and $25 million to the Institute for Advanced Study. In the past, the Institute for Advanced Study has produced such minds as Albert Einstein and John von Neumann, both of whom I hear had some modest contributions to the field of physics.

Just because Simonyi doesn't fund the person or institution Mr. Wojtyna prefers does not give him the right to judge how Simonyi spends the money he has earned."

Ain't it quaint? A thoughtful non-liberal calls class-warfare what it is and doesn't get published.
